Tom De Vita

Tom De Vita was born in Queens, New York, and resides in Pembroke Pines, Florida. De Vita received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting, Drawing, and Sculpture, from St. John's University, in New York, and his Master of Fine Arts from Miami International University of Art & Design, in Miami, Florida.
De Vita was a former full-time professor of art at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and an adjunct professor at Barry University and Broward College, teaching painting, drawing, sculpture, digital design and art history.
Currently, Tom De Vita is director of De Vita Academy of Art, in Davie, Florida, with his wife, also an artist and professor, teaching traditional painting, drawing, and sculpture. De Vita Academy of Art is a student-centered art academy utilizing traditional methods of art education.
His life has been devoted to developing paintings, portraits, illustrations, and murals for numerous businesses, residences, and private collectors. He exhibits locally and nationally, and is the recipient of the Duane Hanson Allied Artist Fellowship and was The Artist in Residence for the City of Pembroke Pines, for 2014-2015.
